Every player is expected to:

  • Be courteous and welcoming to opponents prior to start of play
  • Try to make bridge enjoyable for yourself, partner and your opponents
  • Credit where credit is due when opponents make a good bid or play
  • Be polite when responding to questions on systems

The Director appreciates a "thank you"

It is unacceptable to:

  • Criticise partner, opponents or Director
  • Be rude, insinuate or badger partner, opponents or Director
  • Make negative comments concerning other players’ play or bidding
  • Discuss hands after the round is called
  • Gloat over good results
  • Object to a call for the Director
  • Dispute a Director’s ruling

It is acceptable for you to call Director immediately when unacceptable behaviour occurs to indicate that a player is interfering with your enjoyment of the game (Breach of Law 74A)

More on etiquette. The club encourages the use of System Cards, but understands if they are not.
